Emergency Accident Relief Centres:(EARC)


   The Emergency Accident Relief Centre have been introduced in TamilNadu by the Relief Centres has been commenced The Scheme of Emergency Accident Relief Centres has been commenced on 21.11.2002 at Mamandoor and Sriperumbudur. Considering the phenomenal increase in vehicular population contributing to increase in road accidents, 100 Emergency Accident Relief Centres have been established on all the important National and State Highways, to give first aid to the accident victims within the "golden hour" and to arrange for further treatment through the nearby referral hospitals as per victim's choice. Each centre has an ambulance to respond to the accident cases with essential drugs, paramedical staff and driver available round the clock making it convenient for public to access these centres through a toll free Phone number 1073.Out of the 100 centres, 18 Centres are functioning at present. 12 Centres are fully sponsored by private hospitals, institutions and non-government organizations and 6 centres are partially funded with the financial assistance from Government.The Government assistance is upto a maximum of Rs.40,000/- per month per centre.An amount of Rs.33,60,000/- has been allotted for running these 7 partially sponsored Emergency Accident Relief Centres during the year 2016-17 and due to the timely assistance rendered by these emergency accident relief Centres, precious lives have been saved from fatalities.    Together to achieve the aim of providing "road safety for all" These departments will use the RADMS for data entry, verification of data; ensure quality of data and analysis of data.The RADMS has come into operation with effect from 01/01/2009 in all Police Station level. However the Government have approved the standard operating procedures for RADMS and came into force on 22.9.2009.After issue of this Government Order, all the user departments like police,Transport, Highways have started feeding the data relating to road accidents in RADMS.In the initial stage entries have been made by the police department based on the FIR right from 01/01/2009 on and after the date of issue of the Government order, such entries are being escalated to Transport Department and Highways department to fill up the details relating to their departments respectively. It is proposed to utilize the facilities of TNSWAN (TamilNadu State Wide Area Network) for free access and feed the data in RADMS without any interruption.
